  1. Hello Dan and Joan!
Nice to see pictures of you both, looking healthy and happy. Esther and I have been quite busy over the past year, but I wanted you to know that we both read your book and found it quite interesting, especially after having met you during our very excellent tour of Ireland. It’s hard to believe that a whole year has slipped by. Dan, you achieved a great deal in your life and have every reason to be proud. I told Esther that you very much remind me of friends that I grew up with. In reading your book, it’s more understandable to me why that is. Although our life experiences have been very different, we both came of age during the period of the Vietnam war. Also, we lived in the two areas of the country that were most in the forefront of the anti-war movement. You in Berkeley and me in Cambridge. I remember well the massive anti-war demonstrations and clashes with police who deeply hated the long haired, hippy pinkos!
We enjoyed the tour so much that we just booked another for September, 2015. This time we will explore Italy. Let us know if you are interested in joining!
Quite by accident, I managed to connect with my long lost relatives in Ireland. One has created an extensive family tree that we’ve found quite fascinating. We may need to arrange another trip to Ireland to meet them.
Hope that all is well with you both and thanks for an entertaining read!

    • Hi Frank and Esther: Thanks for reading my book and visiting my author webpage. Glad you enjoyed it. Joan and I had a great time in Ireland with you and are glad you reached out to us. We were lucky and did an Italian tour when I sang in a choir at a Unitarian Society where our guide was the choir director. A large contingent joined us for the best tour ever, but the Gems of Ireland was a close second. We just came back from a family wedding in Illinois and a large reunion. Hope you have a chance to come out west. We would love to show you the best of this area. Please keep us posted on your tour and keep in touch. Dan and Joan
